Danzel – Pump it up! cd single review

Danzel - Pump it up! cd single review

Last week Danzel’s debut single Pump it up! entered the Flemish Ultratop charts at nr 25.
A great start for Johan Waem, alias Danzel, which was one of the 20 finalists of ‘Idool 2003’ in Belgium.

Producer Jaco Van Rijswijk took the original song by the Black & White Brothers and a sample of ‘In the mix’
by Mixmaster to create a new groovy 2004 edition together with Johan.

This remake will surely do it in the clubs when played loud, just like the original did. If you didn’t like the original though, then the debut single of Danzel will not change that.
I must admit that Pump it up has never been my all-time favourite (as I find the song a bit repetitive) but you can offcourse disagree with me 🙂

Track 2 on the cdsingle is Downtown (Vocal club mix) which is an okay song (groovy club style) but also is a bit too repetitive to become a great hit.

Pump it up has been signed in almost all European countries while it’ll be also released in South-Africa.
After Belgium, France will be the first country to conquer as the cd single will be relased on March 1st.

So should you buy this cdsingle ? A sure yes if you’re a party DJ and/or liked the original Black & White brothers version!
