Your Jessy opinions please

Postby abominus » Sun Jun 08, 2008 7:39 pm

Okay Jessy fans, check this out:

I was looking around Itunes today and I found these reviews from Jessy's "Rain" album:

*****

While Jessy's voice makes her a Belgian version of Nelly Furtado.........

*****

and......

*****

and the album will be more consistent than Lasgo's debut

*****

I never really thought about the whole Nelly/Jessy thing but as far as *I* know, Nelly is more of an R&B artist than she is Dance. In fact, I have not seen or heard from Nelly since that whole "Loose" album came out and that was a few years ago. No one knows what she is been up to lately. Nelly's cool but she ain't Jessy  In fact, I do not see Nelly doing some Dance songs any time soon. As far as the Lasgo debut album issue, I heard it again and I feel that "Rain" is put together better than "Some Things" but that's just me.

Oh, and there is also this from another reviewer on Itunes about Jessy:

*****

Ballads "Dancing in the dark" and "rain" beautifully blend in but makes us aware that Jessy sometimes has trouble enunciating her words in English. Phrasing is also noticeable on the mid-tempo's and slow jams "White Lies, 'I'll Get Over You," "Stuck On You" and "Silent Tears." They are more difficult to get through especially when you can't dance to them.

I would like to get your opinions on this.

Thanks!

my favorite is where do I go
Jessy sounds countryesque/Southern and Americans hate that Southern accent.

I do agree that Jessy has this "warmth" to her voice that yea, in a sense, could be categorized as Country. I mean, if you listen to any Sylver, Milk Inc, or even Cascada records, it does not take you long to realize that Jessy's voice does not sound like any of the other girls that are in her class, you know?

I just love her voice. I wish that she was reading me bedtime stories and tucking me in at night :P

............

Anyways. That's my story and I am sticking to it
