A few days ago I read this piece of news and I became very sad since she is the most important member in the band thanks to her angelic voice.

Since their third album (Flowers/Cruel Summer) Linn has been voluntarily hidden under excessive discretion to reach the stage where she appears blurred on the cover and doesn’t participate in promotion, some official videos and concerts. Because she is Jenny’s and Jonas’ sister, also Ace of Base members, she has been taking part of the band in a very special way. Until now: she has announced via Jenny and Ulf her intention to leave the band.

Curiously in Da Capo, fourth band album, her participation and image were noticeable and lately it was said that next album will feature all band members including Linn. Nevertheless the beautiful blond has decided not to even give her wonderful and valuable voice to next Ace of Base album expected to be released in 2009.

Ace of Base will continue without Linn, but they won’t be the same unless Linn returns. In their new web you can read “Redefined” and news about an album with 50% of the content being old (new versions of classics).

Why have Linn acted so mistrustful during the last years is still a mystery. Some people attribute it to the fact that her sister was attacked with a knife in 1994, april, by a disturbed girl fan while she was sleeping. However this happened before the release of the second album, where she participated very actively, although most of its material could be prepared previously.

It seems like Linn is not aware of the great love and admiration she arouse in people who listen to her and it seems like she is afraid of the world. Why?

Anyone who knows something about her reasons, I’d like to read about it.

didnt she leave the band a long time ago? ace of base has been operating on 3 people for a while now. i thought she left after de capo and the newer performances have only included the 3 of them. they had a bit of a hiatus and now theyve resurface but with 3. but they resurfaced a while ago, so linn has been out for a while.

Yea, she has been gone for a while.

Can anyone guess why she has been so elusive? Maybe she was not ready for all of the spotlight, yes?

Linn didn't leave Ace of Base long ago. She started to hide herself in 1998 but she has been linked to the band until Da Capo album (2002). And lately (last year) the band announced a new album featuring the four of them. It was this year when first Ulf and then Jenny announced that Linn won't participate in the new album. A great disappointment.

Ummm, could you explain this a little better? Where did the whole drug thing come from?

These are very serious things and I haven't read about it nowhere. I don't think the problem is about drugs, her brother and sister would have said something about it and tried to help her.
