Dance music in France

Postby djn1 » Fri May 12, 2006 3:27 pm

Hey guys!
I'm wondering what you think of French dance projects such as Pakito or Shana Vanguarde, of Indra's new hit "Sois beau et tais-toi" and of an Italian project that has had a massive success in France : Benassi Bros ("Illusion", "Hit My Heart", etc.) :D

I don't know Indra - Sois beau et tais-toi but for the rest, I love the 3 other group that you talked.

The video of Pakito - Living On Video is weird but I like the song. I found yesterday their new song Moving On Stereo and it's good also.

Shana Vanguarde has a beautiful voice and she's pretty too. I love her cover of Dancing Queen. She will release her first album soon with a cover of Lay All Your Love On Me.

Benny Benassi is my favorite DJ, so I love Benassi Bros. I talk also a lot on his official forum. My favorite song of Benassi Bros is Hit My Heart sung by the beautiful Dhany.

I like also Bob Sinclar (for his songs 'World Hold On' and 'Love Generation'), Joachim Garraud and David Guetta. If you like House Music, you should download Bob Sinclar - World Hold On (Joachim Garraud and David Guetta Remix). This song is so good.

I like Shana very much, dancing queen is a great remix and mama mia is not bad also while gimme gimme could be better but still...not bad,
i've been on her forum but the activity is very very low, like 1 post a month :) and that's too bad because she is very promissing to make great music, even tho she only made the remixes so far, i hope to hear something of hers
does anyone have any info on when she might release her first album?

also, i really like benassi bros with his Every Single Day song

Great ! Is this official news ?

Kinda weird ... Sylver and Shana Vanguarde covering the exact same song ... in the same year ... hmm ...

Someone told me this information. He took his information on the forum of Shana Vanguarde. I checked on his forum and the Web Admin of the forum said there will be a album but he said that on November 15th 2005.

I thought there will be a album soon but with this information, I don't know when they will released it.

Sorry for the wrong information.

The Web Admin said also that some tracks are ready to be released like a cover of All Your Love On Me. I feel like you for the two covers but the kind of music is different.

If you don't know Indra'a song, go on her official website, you can hear some snippets of her new album. Sois beau et tais-toi is the first one. I think it is www.indraofficiel.com or something...

You're right. Indra - Sois-beau et tais-tu is very good. I listened all the snippets. Indra - Ha ha ha I love you seems to be good too.

It's the same song in English, if I remember well... the French lyrics are really nice and cheeky, the title means "Be hansome and shut up". The other version is bit flat lyrically I think.
Plus it is so rare to hear credible dance music in French, it has all gone Ilona lately... :( Karol ("Le bateau blanc") is quite nice too, a bit childish, but it can appeal to an older audience

You're right. I re-listened the snippets and Ha ha ha I love You and Sois-beau et tais-toi and it's the same music.

Karol - Le bateau blanc and Ilona - Un Monde Parfait are a little bit childish but I like them.

Two old songs were credible dance music in french: ''Sash - Encore Une Fois'' and '' Encore - Le Disk Jockey''.

Some belgians groups make credible dance music in french too. Kate Ryan has some good songs in french like Désenchantée and Libertine. The french remix of Sylver - Turn The Tide (Je Ne Sais Pas), Dee Dee - Forever (Pour Toujours) and Jessy - Look At Me Now (Regardez-Moi) are great too.

You are right, those songs are great. It's quite funny because Kate Ryan has had her biggest hits in Germany with her French songs. I think I've heard Kira with a French version of "I'll be your angel" on Contact FM (a great French dance radio station) a couple of years ago, but I can't seem to find it anywhere...
In-Grid is also very good, she writes great lyrics but her accent makes them somtimes difficult to understand :)

I checked on the Moskito site and they don't talk about a french remix of Kira - I'll be your angel.

In-Grid is good too. I like her songs Tu es Foutu and Mama Mia (Radio Edit French). I love the remix of theses tunes: (In-Grid) - Tu Es Foutu (Benny Benassi Remix) and In-Grid - Mama Mia (Favretto Remix Radio Edit French).

Do you like these two songs on Bob Sinclar: ''Love Generation'' and ''World Hold On'' ?

Strange about Kira, I was pretty sure it was her... thank you for checking.
My favourite In-Grid songs are "Tu es foutu", "In-tango" and "Mais la nuit, il dort"... The other ones are good too, but for Mama Mia, I prefer the Spanglish version that Katla had sung in 2001, called "Algun Dia".
I've always liked Bob Sinclar, from his great debut single "Gym Tonic" in 1998 up to now... His two latest singles are real anthems
By the way, Natasha St-Pier has also had her two latest singles remixed. The one for "Un ange frappe a ma porte" is done by Mr Sam. Has anybody heard it?

I didn't hear the remixes of the last two singles of Natasha St-Pier but I want to hear them. Natasha St-Pier come from the province of Quebec in Canada where I live. I'm a french Canadian too.

I forgot another good tune in french: Naty - Toit Mon Toit (Benny Benassi Remix).

Naty was nice, but was not really a big hit in France.
I thought Natasha came from New Brunswick... thanks for the correction
by the way, j'adore l'accent quebecquois, c'est toujours un plaisir pour les oreilles, et je pense parler au nom de toute la France :D
Do you also remember "Et Cetera" by Gabrielle Destroismaisons? What is she doing now? She never was big in France, but I quite liked her songs though

I made a mistake. You're right about Natasha St-Pier. She's come from New Brunswick. I thought she come from Quebec but I checked on her website.

I wasn't sure if you were French or British because of your location behind your nickname and the fact that you know a lot about music in France and the radio station.

J'aime bien aussi l'accent des Français. Il y a quelques uns à l'université que je vais à Montréal.

Yes I know the song ''Et Cetera''. I don't know what Gabrielle Destroismaisons is doing right now. We don't hear informations about her on TV for a while.
